♥♥♥♥♥  Informative,February 5, 2013, Michael

After our geneticist told us that he believed that our daughter may have Loeys Dietz syndrome we went home to find out all we could. There are a few informative websites, however we really wanted to know how this may affect our family in our day to day life. We went to Amazon and did a search to see if anything would come up and to our surprise this book was there. Even though the affects of this syndrome, to some regard, may vary from one person to another we took great comfort in reading a book about this close family from the midwest and how with each difficulty they became stronger and closer because of it. After reading this book the prospect of Loeys Dietz syndrome didn't look as hopeless. This book is inspirational, tear jerking and empowering. I found myself crying and even laughing at times. It is very well written and an easy read. I highly recommend this book to anyone that is facing any rare connective tissue syndrome such as marfan and ehlers- danlos, etc... as well.

May God continue to bless the Jurgens family!

  1. ♥♥♥♥♥Inspirational, June 22, 2012 By RJM Inspiring book, allowing us into the hardship and trials of a family with first an unknown then rare genetic birth defect. Their faith is what held them above the water through it all. The strength of Mo for all she goes through is so apparent, taking the next surgery in her stride. Highly recommended.

  4. ♥♥♥♥♥A moving memoir, July 7, 2012 By RLL - A very moving book that shows the incredible strength of a mother and her quest to seek care for her daughter with a rare genetic disorder. As a mother, it instilled in me that as parents we must always be the first advocate for our children and their best interests. As a healthcare provider, it make me re-think how I interact with my patients by listening and supporting them in their diagnosis and treatment.

This is a true life account of the birth of a child with a very rare condition, how the family fought to find out what it was and how the child has grown into a wonderful young lady. I am fortunate to know the aunt of Mo and to have therefore heard even more inspiring tales of Mo's life.
